AUSTIN, TX and WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following is a statement from Nakhia Crossley, central region director and counsel at the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), on new legislation that would improve rooftop solar access in Texas:

“The solar industry commends Senator Menendez for filing the Solar Customer Protection legislation this session and for continuing to support rooftop solar access and use for all Texans. This legislation will make sure solar customers receive the information they need to make informed decisions and will prohibit municipalities from unreasonably restricting the right of citizens to choose their own energy source. This legislation will ultimately support energy independence for consumers and help bring even more jobs and solar to the Lone Star state.”
